Volunteer Work

Waukesha West Bell Ringers

My senior year of high school, I helped arrange a Salvation Army bell ringing fundraiser when my theater department did "It's a Wonderful Life". I set up meetings with other club leaders in the school. We arranged for students to go out to various spots in town and collect money, as well as a district-wide food drive for the Salvation Army. With the collective help of all the other cast members and students, we were able to raise over $8,000 and over 7,000 food items for the Salvation Army. Being so touched by the help we were able to provide, myself and a few other students were invited back to help give out food on Thanksgiving the following year. Link

Geek Squad Academy

For the 4 years I worked at Geek Squad, I had the pleasure of volunteering for the Geek Squad Summer Academy. GSA was a traveling tech-education program for inner-city teens and youths. This was a very important program to me and still is. With the help of Best Buy, Geek Squad was able to provide technical education and life skills to children that may not have another opportunity to gain those skill else where. "GSA camps feature unique, hands-on classes that connect teens with tech trends like 3-D design, digital music production, HTML coding and more. The goal is to help inspire teens to pursue careers and further their education around technology." - Link
